Stolisnaja vodka is quality!
Today my friend called my as he had bought some cheap russian vodka. Vodka is great when it is cold so he had placed two bottles of 60% vodka on the snow. Yesterday it was -11C and this night temperature fell into -27C and both botles of "quality vodka" were frozen solid
Not so 60% vodka after all, stick to Stolisnaja

i think that even 60% alcohol can freeze with -27, and i think -27 is the air temperature.
The ground is even colder. And why do you want to drink vodka that is -20 degree celsius lol:p
it will ice-burn your throat
and for edglobe, i tried absinthe (72%) in Rome. We bought a big bottle with a couple of friends, because it was f...ing expensive. It really burns hard if you drink it pure, so some of us mixed with with coke and other mixed it with wisky ^^.
we didn't hallucinate but i can guarantee you a big hangover is inevitable.

Re: russian vodka
-27C is enough to freeze 40% alchohol yes and the first part to freeze is the water in it. 60% should be at least in a mobile state for awhile.
But the bottles were inside the snow, so the temperature should be somewhat warmer inside the snow. Most small animals and birds use snow as an insulator when the conditions are such that their lives are in danger so they dig under the snow. Even owls and bigger predatorial birds do that when they have to.
And on those conditions you cannot drink vodka straight. So mixing it with something warmer is a must.
