Instead of talking about gods, maybe look into quantum physic, and the different theories on the creation of the universe related to this quantum physic.

One of the candidates for Illuminati was Unicorn Hunters and they do actually do exist. I heard about them from French game designer and reseacher Bruno Faidutti who has dwelled with the unicorns in the past.

Hes has made two tomes about his research and placed both of them on his website as a PDF-files. They are both written in french so it can take a while to read them through (like I did).
